The Saddle deserves to be approached as a piece of advanced product design.
Not only as an object of tradition.
Not only as a piece of craftsmanship.
But as a complex interface between a living body, a human being and movement.
THE FOUNDER
A P A C H E was founded by Bruno Rolo, designer and engineer whose career has been built around the relationship between form, technology, materials and human experience. His professional background began in the world of concept-cars and automotive design, working at the intersection of advanced engineering, precision and high-end design.
The automobile became a laboratory for understanding how structure, aerodynamics, materials, ergonomics and aesthetics can come together in a single object. This experience was followed by work in architecture and luxury, environments where proportion, material, detail and the relationship between an object and its environment become fundamental.
Across these different disciplines, one principle remained constant:

FROM AUTOMOTIVE DESIGN TO THE HORSE
The transition from automotive design to saddlery may appear unexpected.
In reality, the connection is fundamental.
A high-performance object must understand the forces acting upon it.
It must respect movement.
It must manage interfaces.
It must combine structure and flexibility.
It must make advanced technology disappear into an intuitive experience.
A saddle faces an equally complex challenge.
It sits between two moving bodies.
It must connect horse and rider without becoming an obstacle to either.
This is where the A P A C H E journey began.
